Ecodelic Retreat in Camarillo, California, May 2024
Ecopsychedelic Retreat with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
What a weekend. We always feel so energized after a retreat weekend. The love and connection felt is so powerful and invigorating in the midst of healing and self reflection.
We got to the house Friday afternoon and met the groundskeeper who informed us one of their hens had some chicks on the way. We were immediately excited at the possibility of witnessing a chick being born and we sure did, from the poke of the beak out of the shell to a fully hatched baby! It was so shocking to see the difference 24 hours made in their development!
One of our participants brought their sweet pup along who became our doggie mascot for the weekend. She sure did want to get all the chickens in the coop but they were well protected. It was amazing to watch her run around, delighted to be able to explore the vast farmland. Plenty for her and the humans alike to engage with.
There were swings, a treehouse, and other fun activities to PLAY on. We took the opportunity to laugh and play as much as possible to offset the heavier deep conversations around self identity and soul expansion. The flowers were in full bloom and there were fruit on the trees that we picked and ate for snacks. It really was a wonderful playground for adults, animals and kids alike. A peaceful setting to anchor in intentions and interact with the natural world.
We ate together for each meal and discussed life outside the retreat and what goals were being focused on for the weekend. Music played in the background as each person quickly connected to their shared humanity amongst such different backgrounds. The energy felt warm, inviting, fun, beautiful, and impactful.
When it was time to leave it felt bittersweet as the short weekend felt so much longer and each person was eager to stay connected and integrate together. We could not have asked for a better second retreat.
It always amazes us what safety and invitation does for the soul. When we initially decided to do retreats we wanted there to be a place in which true honesty of self was welcomed and encouraged. We wanted a serene setting where people could really settle into the peace of a natural environment and community care.
Our community norm was leading with love, openness, and acceptance of differences in order to create glimmers of hope amongst the realities of world pain. Our group was so open and willing to participate in reciprocity of all forms which made a safe container for deep Ketamine Assisted Therapy work.
To be able to witness and cultivate communal connection in congruence with deep personal healing was a gift to see. We love watching people support each other and have difficult conversations with openness and curiosity. Honoring all feelings as they arise in order to move through and learn from them.
KAP was an added layer of exploration amongst the backdrop of flowers and bird songs. We engaged with the natural world by taking time to sit with the fruit trees, smell the lavender and rosemary in stillness…It all felt exactly right.
Such a magical weekend with dynamic people.
